How many Weaver's does it take to agree a pattern?







We have many accomplished Weavers in the Guild, so this was a great introduction to warping a loom and beginning to weave.

Work from last year - the winners

First Prize - Pat Hughes

Hiking socks knitted with various fleeces all hand dyed. Both socks of each pair were knitted at the same time to ensure the strips matched

Black & White scarf at the bottom of the picture. Black and white Aplaca using a waffle weave to give the effect that it has been woven with thicker yarn

Broadweavers Masterclass the winners

Each year, the Broadweavers come to judge samples of our work. This year the brief was to make a bag. The bag had to display either a dying technique or handspun yarn, knitted or woven. All of thework was excellent and the judges had a hard time choosing.

First Prize - Jean Hughes

Cotton bag dyed with fibre reactive dyes using marbling technique. Crazy patchwork embroidered with random dyed embroidery cotton. Decorated with bugle beads and lined with tear drop cotton

Second Prize - Pat Hall

Domino knitted then machine felted bag using mixed fleece, natural and acid dyed.











Third Prize - Celia Bishell

Patchwork knitted bag using dark brown Jacobs, Light Brown Manx Loughton, 50% wool 50% dog fur dyed with Dylon Hot water dyes. Handles made using weaving sticks
